Michigan International Speedway
Michigan International Speedway TicketsThe Michigan International Speedway (MIS for short) is a two-mile course in Southeast Michigan near the village of Brooklyn. The speedway, with a capacity of 56,000, has the fastest NASCAR track due to its long straightaways, wide lanes and sweeping corners. Typical qualifying speeds are as high as 200 mph. Many greats have broken records here. Jeff Gordon broke the record for a qualifying lap in 2014 with a speed of 206 mph, and Dale Jarrett broke the record for a 400-mile race with an average speed of 173 mph. On race weekends, entertainment for all ages includes performers, face painting and live music. On Saturday evenings, there are concerts and fireworks at the speedway's campground. In addition to NASCAR races, the speedway hosts events like Faster Horses, a huge annual country music festival spanning three days in the summer.
