MGMT: duo return with critically acclaimed fourth album

Formed by core duo VanWyngarden and Goldwasser while attending Wesleyan University in the US state of Connecticut, dazzling double act MGMT were initially part of the hipster Brooklyn scene which dominated indie music in the late 2000s. Heralded for smash hit singles "Time To Pretend" and "Kids", they quickly moved on from their 'hotly-tipped' status to slay fans and critics alike and become firm festival and gig favourites.

In 2010, they released Congratulations, their second album: a rewarding, challenging affair that showed that the pair were not just fun psych-pop hitmakers, but had depth and vision. It also earned them prestigious US TV slots on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with David Letterman. Never ones to sit on their laurels, they returned to the studio after a huge tour and recorded 2013 album MGMT, which saw a return in part to their hook-laden, poppier sound, thrilling fans both old and new.
