Matilda is a young girl with extraordinary talents - despite being brought up by cruel and often neglectful parents, she has retained her sweetness, innocence and a passion for learning brought about by extensive reading. She is sent to a school at which the terrifying Miss Trunchbull presides over the children - using fear as a means of control. Finding an ally in the warm-hearted Miss Honey, a first grade teacher who becomes aware of her pupil's incredible abilities, Matilda sets out to use her powers for good and drive away the principal reigning terror on the school.

The delightful story was adapted for the stage by Australian comedian Tim Minchin and writer Dennis Kelly, and has gone on to become a smash hit across the globe.
