The World’s Strongest Man Arena Tour 2021 is bigger, better than ever

The World’s Strongest Man Arena Tour 2021 (rescheduled from 2020) is Giants Live’s biggest, best, strongest competition series yet — with five dates in the UK including a first-ever Scottish show.
The strongman competition will push the limits of the sport —and its athletes— farther than ever. The 2021 World’s Strongest Man Arena Tour has its first flex on 24 April in Sheffield for the Britain’s Strongest Man tournament and wraps with the World Tour Finals on 18 September in Glasgow, its first Scottish show.
“It’s incredible to think that just 5 years ago we were holding strongman competitions in gym car parks. We’re a small team here, but we love strongman and we had a vision — to build this sport and give the athletes the stage and the glory they deserve,” says Darren Sadler, director of Giants Live.
He adds, “We’ve put so much blood, sweat and tears into making that happen. To see strongman in the spotlight, on the world stage in front of thousands of fans — it’s what we live for, and our upcoming tour is going to be the biggest Tour we’ve ever created!”
There will be six events in The World’s Strongest Man Arena Tour 2021 and some of the biggest names in the sport are expected to be present including Martins Licis and Mateusz Kieliszkowski as well as Icelandic professional strongman and actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson — nicknamed “Thor” and otherwise known as Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane from HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Who is the world’s strongest man?
The current world’s strongest man is Ukranian Oleksii Novikov. At 24 he became the youngest man ever to hold the title after his win in Florida in November 2020 ahead of British Tom Stoltman and Jean-Francois Caron from Canada. The final event was aired in the UK on January 1st from Channel 5 and is currently available to stream on My5. His predecessor in 2019 was American strongman Martins Licis. In January 2020 Adam Bishop was named Britain's strongest man at the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield.
What are the World’s Strongest Man 2021 tour dates?
The 2021 World’s Strongest Man Arena Tour includes five shows in the UK and a potential North American Open in Florida. The first event is the Europe Strongest Man competition on 3 April in Leeds. Hopefully by that time fans will be allowed to see marvels of muscle including the lifting of giant logs and atlas stones, pulling cars and more, with the three top-scoring strongmen earning a spot at the World’s Strongest Man finals.
The next stop on the 2021 World’s Strongest Man tour is Britain’s Strongest Man at FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield on the 24 April (rescheduled from January). The competition has been won by Game of Thrones’ star Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson for the last five years in a row and fans are hoping he’ll be back to defend his title. Do you reckon someone can move The Mountain?
The 2021 Europe’s Strongest Man tournament will also include the World Log Lift Challenge as the first event, with Iron Biby and Graham Hicks hoping to make a name for themselves by breaking a record. After that, the tour is on to the Strongman Classic on 5 June at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The 2021 Strongman Classic brings professional weightlifting back to Royal Albert Hall for the first time since the renowned Great Competition in 1901. Next year’s event will take inspiration from its predecessor, with an old-time strongman vibe including antiquated athleticisms like the Pillars of Hercules, Circus Dumbbells and stone carries.
Speaking of the 2021 Strongman Classic, Sadler says, “We couldn’t ask for a more perfect setting to celebrate the oldest sport in the world. To bring our athletes to this iconic venue and the very same stage where Eugen Sandow once stood — it is a significant moment for the sport and will be the crowning jewel in the 2021 World’s Strongest Man Arena Tour.”
