Westlife at Wembley 2020: Don’t miss their biggest UK concert ever

We swear it again: we know where to get the best tickets
Westlife UK tour

Irish boy band Westlife have announced their biggest-ever UK concert at London’s Wembley Stadium, set for 22 August 2020.

The “My Love” singers just wrapped their hugely successful Twenty Tour, which sold a record 600,000 tickets and saw them bring their hit songs to 27 cities in 13 countries.

Described as “a once in a lifetime event”, next year’s spectacle in the Capital will see the lads supported on stage by James Morrison and girl group All Saints. According to The Sun, the band said, "Headlining Wembley Stadium is a dream come true for all of us.”

They continue, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we’re incredibly excited for a show which will be different and more spectacular than anything we’ve ever done before. This will be our biggest ever concert in the UK”.

The Westlife comeback tour will also see them doing a huge 2020 concert at Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork, Ireland on 28 August 2020. According to the Irish Mirror, a number of hotels in the area have already sold out of rooms and the show is driving prices up. In a statement on Metro, the band said, “We’re over the moon to announce we’re going to be playing Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork for the first time ever next year!”

As if that wasn’t enough, Westlife have also told fans they’ll be dropping their first record in nearly a decade. Titled Spectrum, it is their 11th studio album and is being released on 15 November 2019. It has been led by the singles “Hello My Love”, “Better Man” and “Dynamite”, and the 11-track collection include collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Steve Mac and James Bay.

The group had previously broken up in 2012, with original band member Brian McFadden having left Westlife in 2004. That said, the split seven years ago may have been the best thing that’s ever happened — allowing the boy band to become standalone men.

Band member Mark Feehily told Metro, “The best thing for our career that we’ve ever done is split up. We would not be standing here today announcing we’re playing Wembley Stadium if we did not split up.”

His bandmate Shane Filan agreed, saying, “I think the time away did a lot for us individually. You had to learn how to stand on your own two feet. We were babies, we were like teenagers when we started Westlife, and we didn’t know anything but having the lads around you and being a band.”

Grateful to see Westlife back together? Then you need to see them live on-stage! The presale for the Westlife concerts in Cork and London will start at 9:00am BST on Wednesday 18 September 2019, and general tickets go on sale Friday 20 September 20 at 9:00am via Live Nation.

Until then, keep reading for everything you need to know before you go to see Westlife in 2020.
