British LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, trans and other sexualities and genders) revellers are once again gearing up to celebrate diversity in an explosion of rainbow flags and fun for Pride 2018.

But this year, the UK has something a bit special lined up with some quite frankly unbelievable acts headlining the festivities.

Let’s start with the one everyone’s talking about...

Britney Spears at Brighton Pride - August 4

You can always count on Brighton Pride to deliver a massive name to headline, with previous artists including Pet Shop Boys, Human League and Carly Rae Jepsen.

But attendees of the annual LGBT+ event were gobsmacked when none other than pop royalty Britney Spears was announced to perform!

The ‘...Baby One More Time’ singer will be supported by fellow 90s pop legend Louise and Pixie Lott.

Rita Ora, Jake Shears (of Scissor Sisters), Sigala at Manchester Pride’s The Big Weekend - August 24-27

This is probably the Pride 2018 event that packs in the most concerts, with a long list of incredible artists turning out over the four-day event.

Rita Ora is arguably the biggest draw here, but Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters (also Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters, but not, apparently, Scissor Sisters) is a pretty big deal.

Rounding out the lineup is DJ Sigala, Alexandra Burke, Louise, Nadine Coyle (formerly of Girls Aloud), Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Kelli-Leigh.

Plus, there’s sing-along cinema and a silent disco if that’s your thing.

Steps at Glasgow Pride - July 15

If Britney wasn’t enough 90s pop nostalgia for you, how about the return of Steps!

The ‘5,6,7,8’ hitmakers are back in a big way with their 2018 Summer of Steps Tour, but you can also catch them at Glasgow Pride.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor at Pride in London - July 7 (and Liverpool Pride Festival - July 28)

Probably best known for 2001 hits ‘Take Me Home’ and ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is the headliner for Pride in London 2018 AND Liverpool’s LGBT+ celebrations.

The British star - also famous for her turn on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ - has a "massive gay following" by her own admission, and has been a regular performer at UK Pride events.

Alexandra Burke, Republica and Snap! at Bristol Pride - July 14

As well as gracing the lineup for Manchester Pride’s The Big Weekend festival and Newcastle Pride, ‘The X Factor’ winner Alexandra Burke is one of many huge stars heading to Bristol Pride in July.

Brit poppers Republica are also making a comeback at the event and Snap! are performing as well (is there a more empowering song to celebrate diversity than ‘The Power? Pretty sure there isn’t...)

Oh, and there’ll be Madonna and Pink tribute acts to round out the lineup!

Conchita at Isle of Wight Pride - July 21

The Isle of Wight is the official host of UK Pride 2018, making it the Pride festival worth making the extra effort to attend.

Headlining the festivities this year is Conchita, who you’ll probably remember as the bearded drag queen sensation who shot to international fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014.

Gok Wan is going to be there too!

S Club and Gareth Gates at Newcastle Pride - July 21 & 22

As the old saying goes, “there ain’t no party like an S Club party” - which is why Newcastle Pride decided to reach for the stars and book the 90s/00s pop sensations.

S Club (now just three members Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett) will be joined by winner of the first ever 'Pop Idol' Gareth Gates, who had several hits in the 00s including ‘Unchained Melody’, ‘Anyone Of Us’ and ‘Spirit In The Sky’.

Alexandra Burke will be performing as well, in case you missed her at any of the other Prides.

Stay tuned to Lineup for the latest additions to the already impressive lineup of acts headlining UK Pride 2018.
