SW4 Festival 2020: Lineup, tickets and what to know before you go

South West Four is back this August Bank Holiday weekend
South West Four Festival

SW4 Festival 2020 is back, bringing the ultimate EDM party to fans in London’s Clapham Common.

Otherwise known as South West Four Festival, EDM experts will recognise its similar energy to Electronic Family Festival in Amsterdam. Last year was a huge year for SW4 Festival, playing host to Pusha T, Eric Prydz, Deadmau5 and Alesso — and 2020 is certainly not looking to disappoint. With Major Lazer, Kano, Krept x Konan and The Streets set to headline, it’s shaping up to be a positively electric way to spend the August Bank Holiday.

SW4 Festival started as a group of local residents having a party on the common over the August Bank Holiday in 2001, and has grown into one of the biggest and most exciting EDM festivals in the UK — with superstar talent like Chase & Status, Marshmello and Sigma being among the past headliners.

Fast-forward to 2020 and festival-goers can now expect 20 hours of the best DJs and live electronic acts, with the likes of TS5, Stefflon Don, Andy C, Example and Major Toms all in the SW4 lineup. South West Four will also be Major Lazer’s only gig in the UK this year, so there really is no better place for dance fans to be.

Named after its postcode, South West Four is one of the only electronic festivals in the heart of not only the capital, but any major city. Still hosted in Clapham Common in South London, it’s got everything you could want from a festival, with the transport links that are also worth raving about.

Who’s playing on the SW4 lineup in 2020?

There’s a huge buzz around the 2020 SW4 lineup and rightly so. Made up of DJs Diplo, Walshy and Fire Ape Drums, EDM powerhouse collective Major Lazer will be playing their biggest UK show of the year here, bringing their songbook which flirts with pretty much every dancehall genre — across reggaeton, soca, house, reggae and moombahton.

When asked what Major Lazer is in a recent Instagram post, they comically replied, “It’s a rhythmic intensifying of tones and beats culminating in a climax."

Major Lazer will be joined at SW4 Festival 2020 by Londoners and longtime collaborators with Stormzy and Krept & Konan. Fresh from their phenomenal set at the O2 in December 2019, the latter rap duo are not to be missed. Fellow UK hip-hop class acts like Kano and The Streets will also be at South West Four — with both festival days so packed with A-Grade talent, you will need the Bank Holiday Monday to recover.
