My Chemical Romance reunion tour 2021: UK dates, tickets and more
The 2020 My Chemical Romance reunion tour has been rescheduled to June 2021 and will see the American alt-rock band back on stage with three sold-out UK dates in Milton Keynes, one in Cornwall (Eden Project) and one in Ireland.
Are My Chemical Romance getting back together?
MCR have been on hiatus since 2013, though reunion rumours began in 2017. Last Halloween, after much speculation, My Chemical Romance announced they would playing a one-off show together on 20 December 2019 at The Shrine in Los Angeles as well as a new merch line. Tickets sold out in four minutes, and the band announced 2020 dates in Australia, Japan and New Zealand soon after.
Come January 2020, the group announced they would be returning to the UK with a show in Milton Keynes — much to the delight of the British wing of the MCRmy fanbase. My Chemical Romance tickets for the 20 June show went on sale on 24 January and sold out within minutes. A second performance on 21 June was announced almost immediately, with MCR fans similarly snapping it up quickly.
With the MCR reunion tour being a major hit amongst British fans, the band have announced a third date at Milton Keynes on 18 June. Guitarist Frank Iero wrote on Instagram: “Due to the absolutely overwhelming demand, we have decided to add a third and final date to our Milton Keynes Stadium run. Thank you to everyone that made this possible. It’s beyond our wildest dreams that we to get to play these shows for you all. See you at the shows. xofrnk #MCRMKIII”.
My Chemical Romance have also extended their European performances, including a new stop in Dublin on 22 June. MCR also announced a reunion tour in North America, though those tickets also sold out in six hours.
For those lucky fans who were able to get My Chemical Romance tickets, it was like the Black Parade was rolling through town. Twitter user @part_time_emo tweeted: “9 years ago I posted about wanting to see MCR...and this year I finally get to see them😭😭😭 dreams do come true kids😭 #MCR #MCRMK #June20”.
Among those who didn’t get MCR tickets in time though, it was rather emo-tional. @DiamondDaysXO tweeted: Someone pleeease tell me if they have a spare VIP standing ticket to MCR 18th June or any websites that may have some left randomly 😭😭 #MCRMK #mcrmkiii”.

Where does the name My Chemical Romance come from?
The name My Chemical Romance was first suggested by the band’s bassist Mikey Way. The younger brother of frontman Gerard Way was working at American bookstore Barnes & Noble and was struck by the title of Irvine Welsh tome “Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance”.
Why did MCR break up?
My Chemical Romance frontman told NME in 2014 that the band felt it was time to split up in 2013. That said, it wasn’t easy. He said, “I think we’re all pretty upset. It was sad, because it wasn’t a situation where anybody hated each other. It was nobody’s fault.”
