The “Fade” singer’s last UK tour was in early 2020, shortly before covid-19 hit the UK and concert venues were closed. He performed a sold out tour across Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin, Cardiff, Aberdeen and London next.
Who is Lewis Capaldi?
Love the music but know nothing about the man? Well, Lewis Capaldi is a singer-songwriter born on 7 October 1996 in Bathgate, Scotland. He has both Italian and Scottish heritage.
After recording music in his bedroom as a teen, the crooner released his first track, “Bruises”, on 31 March 2017, which exploded and made him the fastest-ever unsigned artist to hit 25 million plays on the streaming platform. After becoming a viral sensation, he was snapped up by Virgin EMI Records and Capitol Records.
He went on to release two EPs, Bloom and Breach, and hit major mainstream success in 2018. Besides supporting artists like Rag’n’Bone Man and Niall Horan and being named to BBC Radio 1’s Brit List, he also played major summertime festivals like Lollapolooza, Bonnaroo, Firefly, Mountain Jam, Osheaga, Reading & Leeds Festival, Rize and TRNSMT. He also had his first BRIT Award nomination and UK number-one hit last year, “Someone You Loved”, which spent seven weeks at the top of the charts.
He has also been referred to as the “Scottish Ed Sheeran” and the “male Adele”, released his debut album on Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent on 17 May 2020 which topped the UK chart for 8 weeks. The record has produced two UK number-one singles: “Someone You Loved” and "Before You Go".
Despite having huge success, Capaldi admitted to The Sun that he still feels imposter syndrome, “I feel I’ve got Imposter Syndrome. What am I doing here? Why do all these people want to see me?”
He continued, “When I’m sitting backstage at a festival in my trackies looking around, I think, ‘What the f*** am I doing here?’ Everyone is an artist or looks like they should be on the catwalk while I look like I should be at home watching Jeremy Kyle.”

What is the Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent track list?
Lewis Capaldi’s debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent was released on 17 May and includes 12 tracks:
- Hold Me While You Wait
- Someone You Loved
- Don't Get Me Wrong
- Lost On You
Speaking about the album and his talent for tear-jerkers, Capaldi says, “You know, I like making sad songs. I never set out to make an album full of 'em but it just transpired that way. When you’re sad, you think about it, you get into your feelings – you’re wallowing in it and overthinking it. Then you’re sad about something that happened at work and the next minute you’re crying because Katie Stevens never held your hand at the primary school disco.”
Lewis Capaldi’s net worth..?
After doing a quick Google search whilst on a break in Cincinnati back in 2019, Capaldi discovered he was worth $10 million — much to his surprise. The “Lost on You” star quickly posted an Instagram story addressing the claims, saying, “It says according to Forbes and Wikipedia, Lewis Capaldi's estimated net worth is $10million. I’ve got less than £200 in my bank right now so who the f*** has my $10 million?”
He continued to combat the fake news with, “You mean to tell me, I’ve been walking around in the same clothes for the last six months and there’s 10 million f***ng quid sitting about? I’ve had the same bedroom since I was 10 years old! I’ve got f***ng New York wallpaper.”
Capaldi concluded with, “I just want to make clear that’s nonsense, and if the tax man is watching I’m not trying to dodge; I pay what I have to. Although, the next time I’m out and I want to impress anybody, I’ll probably show them that. That’s ridiculous... can you get that round then please?”
