Jason Derulo '777': what we know about the new album
During the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, Derulo announced his new album would be called ‘777’ - but later changed the name to '2Sides'.
The singer has yet to set an official release date.
However, the album’s first single is already here. ‘Swalla’ which features Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign was released in February 2017 and went to number six in the UK charts.
The second single to be released from the album was 'If I'm Lucky'. The lyric video stars Derulo as a zombie and was inspired by Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.
Later came the album's third single 'Tip Toe' featuring French Montana. The star released a self-directed lyric video for the track before the official video was posted to YouTube.
Derulo later released 'Colors', the official Coca-Cola song for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The rousing pop anthem celebrates diversity while also spreading the message that we're all created equal.
According to an interview with TMZ, Derulo is planning to collaborate on a country music project. He said, “I can’t announce what it is exactly yet. But it’s big time.”
On top of his rumoured country project, Derulo has also stirred rumours that he's working on a K-pop collaboration.
In an interview with Metro.co.uk, the singer expressed his love for the Korean music and was asked directly if he would consider working with any of the genre's stars.
He told the website, "Um…I am actually in the process of doing something. I can’t tell you what."
Derulo also praised K-pop stars like BTS for their impressive dedication to their art, suggesting that a lot of other artists don't work as hard.
He added, "I’ve always been a fan of K-pop because of the performance aspect.
"I’ll be completely honest, I am so over lazy artists and the world is full of these non-performers and it’s a little sickening to me as I’m a huge fan of performers who can take the stage and light the stage on fire."
During his career, Derulo has scored four number one hits in the UK: ‘Want To Want Me’, ‘Talk Dirty’, ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ and ‘In My Head’.
