James Arthur UK Tour

British singer James Arthur is taking his upcoming album YOU on the road with an eight-date 2020 UK tour.

Having rocketed up the charts after winning the ninth series of “The X Factor”, he has gone on to achieve global fame; his track “Say You Won’t Let Go” has over 1.22 billion plays on Spotify and he croons to over 23 million monthly listeners.

James Arthur’s 17-track third studio album YOU will be released on 18 October 2019 and has been led by the singles “Naked”, “Empty Space”, “Falling Like the Stars”, “Treehouse” and “Finally Feel Good”. Fans of the Middlesbrough-born singer will likely notice his tracks have changed their tune slightly.

Known for his emotional slow songs, Arthur’s new single “Treehouse” features rappers Ty Dolla $ign and Shotty Horroh. Speaking to Official Charts about the track, he says of the fresh sound: “… I couldn’t do another ballad! [laughs] Over the last couple of years, I’ve put out a few slower tempo songs. I’ve been in the album-making process and the stuff that was mixed and mastered was that radio friendly [sound]. It’s nice now that I’ve finished this particular project because there’s so much to choose from. I can show a bit more diversity. My hardcore fans know I’m a huge hip-hop fan and that’s where my heart is.”

In the same interview, he spoke about how he feels he has been snubbed by the organisers of the Glastonbury Festival. He said, “If I’m completely honest, I don’t think the industry wants me to succeed. That’s fine. I don’t need the validation of all that s**t. I think at one point I did but I’ve realised I’m selling out shows and I’ve got a fanbase that allow me to do what I love every day.”

When is the release date for James Arthur’s new album?

James Arthur’s upcoming third studio album YOU will be released on 18 October 2019. Speaking about his top song on the record, he tells Wonderland: “My favourite track is ‘Unconditionally’. Because it features one of my absolute heroes in Adam Lazzara. To get him on this record was an absolute dream come true. It’s a song I wrote on the acoustic guitar – it’s very honest and it has Taking Back Sunday lyrics in it. When we contacted them about publishing and writing credits, we actually asked if they would like to be part of the record. And they said yes! I was over the moon. It’s a great moment for me being a huge fan of them, my inner emo teenager was jumping for joy.”

There’s little doubt YOU will be huge success. His self-titled debut record peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart in 2013 and his second, Back From The Edge, reached the top spot in 2016.

Will James Arthur do “X Factor All Stars”?

Unfortunately for fans, James Arthur has ruled out participating in “X Factor All Stars”. Though it has yet to be officially confirmed, the programme’s judge and legendary boy band manager Louis Walsh has said that celebrity and all stars versions of the show will air this year.

That said, Arthur does not fancy another go in front of Walsh and Simon Cowell. He tells Official Charts, “I definitely wouldn’t go back as a contestant at this point in my career. I don’t know if it makes sense if you’re during a campaign.”

He continues, “It’s nice to go back [to perform], it’s like nothing else. But I’m certainly ruled out of ever being a competitor. I don’t think I could put myself through the trauma again."
