What TV channel is The Grand National on?

You can watch ‘The National’ on ITV for the second year (the event has previously been broadcast on Channel 4) and will be presented by Ed Chamberlain.

More than 10 million people in the UK are expected to watch this year’s event.

Can you still get tickets to see The Grand National?

Tickets to the Grand National are in high demand and sell out fast.

However, you should find someone willing to sell an extra ticket or two on StubHub. At the time of writing, tickets for the Saturday races range from £26.66 to £220 for the platinum lounge.

Which Grand National fences should I keep an eye out for?

Not all fences were created equal on Aintree’s tricky four-mile course.

There are 16 fences in total. Racers do two laps of the course, but skip the last two for the final run-in, making 30 jumps in total.

While the fences have been modified to reduce risk over the years (replacing timber for a safer plastic alternative, for example) there are still a few fences that jockeys need to be especially wary of…

Becher's Brook: The sixth and 22nd fence is 10 inches lower on the landing side.

The Chair: The tallest fence on the track at five feet, three inches.

Canal Turn: The fence is only five feet tall, but racers need to careful of the sharp left turn that comes immediately after.

How do you do a Grand National sweepstakes?
