Did Foo Fighters break up?

No, Foo Fighters did not break up — in fact, they will be on tour in Europe this summer! However, the band never knew they would go so long. Frontman Dave Grohl said that in their early days, they thought they would break up after “one more record” but see no reason to now.

Grohl tells NME: “It gets to the point to where I refer to it like imagine your grandparents getting a divorce. I’m sure it happens sometimes, but why? You can’t break up. Who even cares any more? Just go play shows.”

Will Foo Fighters tour in 2020?

Wondering whether Foo Fighters will tour the UK in 2020? No British dates have been confirmed, however the “Best of You” may be yet to come. Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has said that Dave Grohl was planning on making 2020 a big year for the band — including potentially new material to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut.

Dave Grohl confirmed the Foo Fighters new album was completed on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” this week, with NME quoting him as saying, “We just finished making a record. Some of those songs, the best ones happen in 45 minutes. Then there’s other songs — there’s a riff on the new record I’ve been working on for 25 years. The first time I demoed it was in my basement in Seattle.”

The Foo Fighters’ new album would be the follow-up to 2017’s Gold and Concrete. The band first hinted at it on social media on New Year’s Day, tweeting: “Come on in, the water’s fine… #FF2020 #FF25 #HappyNewYear”. They also hinted at new material on Twitter with a drum kit soon after.

The band then teased new songs in another tweet about their 25th anniversary, with the Foo Fighters saying, “Holy Shit!!! 25 years?! Thank you guys for being with us year after year…for singing along & making every show the best night of our lives. We’re JUST getting started, so Buckle up, 2020... it’s going to be an INSANE year full of some seriously crazy shit...#FF25 #FF2020”

While this still doesn’t confirm whether Foo Fighters will tour the UK in 2020, a new album almost guarantees they will be hitting the road with more dates. With so many top British festivals for rock music lovers like Download Festival, there’s not doubt that if they don’t come this summer they will certainly be here “Next Year”.
