Who’s playing BST Hyde Park 2020?

The first act to take the British Summer Time stage in Hyde Park will be Post Malone on 2 July 2020. This will be one of only two shows the American rapper will be doing in the UK this year, with the other being in Glasgow Green on 30 June. If you’re thinking of getting Post Malone tickets, it’s Better Now — or it might be never.

Speaking of Posty after a short set together in Toronto, NME quotes Drake as saying, “I just wanna let you know, in front of all these beautiful people from the greatest city in the world: this is one of the greatest human beings you will ever encounter in your life. I love you.”

For fans of female-led pop music, you will want to be in Hyde Park on Saturday July 4. The evening’s headliners will be Little Mix — the world’s biggest girl group, who will be supported by Rita Ora, Kesha and Zara Larsson. To quote Beyoncé, “Who runs the world?”

Kendrick Lamar will headline BST Hyde Park on Sunday 5 July. This will be a week after Glastonbury 2020, with the Pulitzer Prize-winning American rapper rumoured to be performing at the legendary UK music festival as well. Being rather Humble, Kendrick Lamar will be sharing the British Summer Time stage with James Blake and Brittany Howard.

Pearl Jam will be celebrating their 30th anniversary on Friday 10 July at BST Hyde Park. This will be the rock band’s only UK date for 2020 and they will doubtlessly be playing their classic hits as well as material from their upcoming new album, Gigaton. Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament tells Kerrang!, “We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting.”

One of the most highly anticipated performances at any UK music festival this summer is Taylor Swift at BST Hyde Park on Saturday July 11. The American songstress will also be headlining Glastonbury 2020, though surely there’s no Bad Blood between the events. Rather, for Lovers of her music, two Taylor Swift UK dates must be like their Wildest Dreams coming true.

Want to cycle to BST Hyde Park 2020? While there will be a temporary bike rack installed near Albert Gate, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller blades or personal motorised vehicles are not permitted inside the event (with the exception of mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs).

If you are taking a taxi or ride-share, there is no designated drop-off point for British Summer Time Hyde Park 2020 so it’s best to select a location away from the event site as the area will be quite congested. There will be plenty of road closures too and the organisers encourage guests to take public transportation instead of driving themselves.

Will there be food and drinks at BST Hyde Park 2020?

Fancy a bite to eat or a drink between shows? For 2020, the event’s organisers have brought in an even bigger range of artisan traders, producers and restaurateurs to sink your teeth into, plus a selection of themed bars to tap into. Pro tip: avoid getting a bite or beverage just prior to the headliner going on stage as this is when they are busiest — the quietest time is whilst they are on stage.
