Backstreet Boys tour 2019: everything you need to know
‘Larger Than Life’ hitmakers Backstreet Boys are back to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a new single and upcoming world tour.
And now we have all the details of when it's happening!
Here's everything you need to know about the Backstreet Boys UK tour 2019, including dates, venues and new music.
Backstreet Boys UK dates and venues
Here's all the dates for Backstreet Boys 2019 UK tour:
- Manchester Arena (UK) - June 10
- Glasgow, SSE Hydro (UK) - June 14
- Birmingham Arena (UK) - June 15
- London, O2 Arena (UK) - June 17
The band confirmed they will be going on tour in 2019 during a Billboard interview at Wango Tango 2018.
Backstreet Boys brought it up again in an Ask Anything Chat (skip to 4:47 for the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it world tour announcement).
However, that’s about as much information as the band had confirmed at that point, keeping fans guessing about when the 2019 would happen.
But they did mention the world tour once again in an interview with ITV's 'Lorraine', confirming the tour would include UK dates and even suggesting a team-up with Take That, who are also doing an anniversary tour in 2019.
Currently, Backstreet Boys are performing a residency in Las Vegas called ‘Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life’.
The concert series began in March 2017 and will come to an end in April 2019. It was the fastest-selling Las Vegas residency of all time.
Backstreet Boys new single
In May 2018, Backstreet Boys dropped new single ‘Don't Go Breaking My Heart’.
The track is set to feature on their upcoming new album.
Howie D revealed that the as-yet-untitled record will be released in around September/October 2018.
Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls tour?
Nick Carter told Us Weekly that Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls had discussed touring together and that they were definitely up for it.
He told the US magazine, “We’ve had conversations, I’ve had conversations with Scary Spice and Emma, and we’ve talked about it.
“We’re always open to doing a tour with them. I think it would be an epic tour.”
The Spice Girls have since announced their own reunion, but also remain cagey about specifics - suggesting there could be a big joint tour announcement in the works...
Further fuel was added to the rumours when Backstreet Boys performed dressed as the Spice Girls as part of their cruise concert.
That Brooklyn 99 Backstreet Boys scene
OK, so not super relevant to the Backstreet Boys tour, but this hilarious clip from comedy TV show ‘Brooklyn 99’ has definitely played a part in the renewed interest in the band (and seemed like a fun way to end the article).
In the scene, police detective Jake Peralta asks a lineup to sing ‘I Want It That Way’ to help the victim identify the criminal. Check it out.
