An all-girl DJ lineup is joining a host of stars in support of a week-long fundraiser for young musicians.

British singer and producer FEMME (also known as Laura Bettinson) is presenting ‘Girls.Beats.Bass’ (at Dr Martens in Camden, March 22) to help raise money for Give a Gig Week and showcase top female talent.

Give a Gig Week (March 16-25) is an initiative from Youth Music which encourages supporters to raise money for the foundation by staging concerts. There will also be a show from Craig David in the US, while StubHub is taking care of tickets for some top London gigs free of charge including Frisco (more below).

Matt Griffiths, Youth Music CEO, is determined to provide more opportunities for up-and-coming female musicians.

He said, “Women are under-represented in the music industry, particularly in areas like production and engineering, and we’re determined to change this.

“The projects we support give girls and young women the chance to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and progress in whichever way they choose.

“Money raised through Give a Gig Week will help us to create more of these vital opportunities.”
