Lytham Festival 2018: Il Divo, Nile Rodgers, George Ezra and more take to the stage

Held on the promenade of Lancashire seaside resort Lytham St Annes every summer, Lytham Festival returns for its 20th anniversary year in 2018 with another stellar lineup. For five evenings this July, the likes of George Ezra, Pete Tong and Emeli Sande will take to the stage next to the famous Lytham Windmill. Here's the 2018 lineup in full:

Wednesday 18 July: Steps, Whigfield, Vengaboys + DJ Pat Sharp

Thursday 19 July: Pete Tong with the Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley presents Ibiza Classics + Basement Jaxx (DJ set)

Friday 20th July: George Ezra, Emeli Sandé, Rae Morris + guests to be announced

Saturday 21st July: Nile Rodgers & Chic, Bananarama + Soul II Soul

Sunday 22nd July: Il Divo accompanied by the Heart of England Philharmonic Orchestra with Martine McCutcheon + special guests.

Lytham Festival: five nights of top class music and entertainment

The first Lytham Proms was held in 1999 to raise money for charity, boost tourism and bring the community together. A local employee of British Aerospace came up with the idea for the festival, and the company decided to fund and stage it. Since then, the show has been organised by the Fylde Borough Council and Performing Arts Management. Over the years, performers have included the biggest names in British music such as Olly Murs, Tom Jones, Status Quo, Russell Watson and Rita Ora.

This year's lineup features entertainment for all the family and caters to all tastes. Fans of dance and electronic music will be able to enjoy Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley as they present Ibiza Classics, before a DJ set by Basement Jaxx. For the pop kids, Emeli Sande performs while for those with a taste for nostalgia Steps, Vengaboys and the legendary DJ Pat Sharp will also be in attendance.
