Having only once qualified for the Europa League (in the 2012-13 season), Levante FC has nonetheless been a stalwart of Spanish professional football since its foundation in 1909. One of the first football clubs in Valencia, it is named after a beach in La Malvarrosa on the Spanish east coast. The original club merged with Gimnástico FC in 1939, after the Spanish Civil War had left Levante FC without a stadium and Gimnástico without a team. The 20th and indeed 21st centuries were rocky for the newly formed club, but despite relegation and financial woes, Levante FC results became better and better as the new millennium got underway. In 2011, the club even spent a brief period at the top of the La Liga table, eventually finishing sixth and thus qualifying for the Europa League. To crown this success, one of the most exciting Levante FC games to date was held on 13th May 2018, when Emmanuel Boateng helped take the team to a 5-4 win over FC Barcelona, destroying hopes of an unbeaten season and proving Levante FC to be an unexpected force to be reckoned with. With tickets for Levante FC, you never know what kind of historic moments you might get to witness!
Cheer on the team of Levante FC
Besides Emmanuel Boateng in recent years, former star Levante FC players include José Francisco Molina, Sergio - who went on to manage Real Valladolid FC - and Dutch super-footballer Johan Cruyff. The Levante FC manager credited with bringing the team back from their troubles is Luis García Plaza, who had previously played for Atletico Madrid FC and Benidorm FC. With a strong team and renewed confidence after recent seasons, Levante FC is back and more determined than ever. Perhaps the best atmosphere for a game is to be found in the 25,000-capacity Estadi Ciutat de València, where the club is at home, but away games also see legions of fans travel to support their beloved team. No matter where they are playing, you can buy or sell your Levante FC tickets on StubHub to find out what's in store next for this talented team.
