Leaves' Eyes Tickets
Many bands go through lineup changes, but the sheer number of those undergone by Leaves' Eyes shows that the group is striving to achieve perfection in the world of symphonic metal. Even with these constant changes, however, three of the five members have been around since the beginning along. It appears as if they may have achieved that perfection, as anyone with Leaves' Eyes tickets can tell you.
Schedule
Those seeking out Leaves' Eyes tickets should not have a difficult time finding them considering the band's extensive touring schedule. Since their founding over a decade ago, they've played on stages ranging from the Sala Penelope in Madrid to the Sala in Mexico City. They've also made it far outside of the Spanish-speaking world and shown up at the Made of Metal festival in the Czech Republic and Ritual Nightclub in Ontario. Leaves' Eyes has played at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago, and on the other side of the pond, they've ripped up the stage at The Garage in London. Upcoming dates will have them at Venue: K17 in Berlin, Lugnets Skistadion in Sweden and Talking Heads in Southampton.
Trivia
Though some fans may not have caught on, the majority of the lyrics put out by Leaves' Eyes are based on Vikings and Norse mythology. Vinland Saga, for instance, was inspired by the famous Norse explorer who ventured to America, Leif Erikson. Their 2009 release, Njord, is named after a Nordic deity.
Band/Singer
Unlike some bands, Leaves' Eyes wasn't a bunch of amateurs who came together and got lucky enough to land a record deal. In fact, they were all well known by the time they joined the band. A good portion of the group is from Atrocity, a death metal band that formed in 1985. The lead singer, Liv Kristine, was part of the band Theatre of Tragedy, who were very influential in the Gothic metal genre. Leaves' Eyes would premiere onstage in 2004 at the Wave Gotik Treffen. Between their founding and the end of 2013, the band would put out five full-length albums and go through several group iterations. Currently, the supergroup consists of Live Kristine on vocals, Alexander Krull on keyboard and Thorsten Bauer on guitar. The band was also joined by Sander van der Meer on guitar in 2010 and drummer Joris Nijenhuis in 2013.
Breakthrough
The band's first album definitely got noticed due to the all-star lineup of the group, but it was most assuredly their sophomore release, Vinland Saga, that really put them on the map. The album peaked at No. 62 in Germany, and it stayed on the charts for four weeks in a row. The album, released in 2004, also featured a song, 'Elegy', that was used for the TV show NUMB3RS. This recognition ensured that followup releases from the band would get noticed.
Hit Albums
In 2009, Njord charted in Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. Fans loved the epic nature of the album which was achieved through the use of a choir and full orchestra. Meredead, released in 2011, marked the band's first entry, at No. 37, to the US Heatseekers chart. Some critics proclaimed their surprise that an album featuring flutes, fiddles and mandolins could also be pure metal with even a few death growls thrown in. Symphonies of the Night, which hit the shelves in 2013, also achieved commercial and critical success.
Show Experience
Those lucky enough to snag Leaves' Eyes tickets will be treated to an ominous and mysterious atmosphere even before the band hits the stage. Symphonic music plays as fog rises from the stage -- shortly before a choir begins chanting. This all soon dies down, though, as tribal drums, guitars and the sound of flutes begin to fill the air. Kristine then hits the stage with her band -- all of whom appear to embody what metal was always meant to be. Fans in the crowd are moving nonstop -- sometimes because they want to and sometimes because the entirety of the audience is swaying.
