Trivia
In an interview about his musical genre, Thomas, a former member of the Church choir, said: "We mustn't forget the roots of soul music come from gospel." It's no surprise, therefore, that the soulful crooner is superb at what he does--being in touch with his spiritual side.
Thomas is a double platinum winner, yet what he finds truly fulfilling is the ability to spread Christianity through his music. In the meantime, off stage, his love of the natural world spawned keen interest in natural medicine. In 2010 he graduated from a private institution as a qualified practitioner in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Singer
A solo artist who stepped back from the limelight to take stock of his life and lyrical message, Thomas has definitely mellowed over the years as a musician. The artist's third studio album, "Him," was set in motion for promotional airtime when he walked away from his record company. On his return to the studio in 2006, he recorded the album "Crazy World" completed the track, "Him" and composed the classic ballad "Let it Rain." Most recently, he collaborated with Roy Ayres, providing vocals on the single "Waiting," which is featured on Richard Earnshaw's debut album, "In Time."
Breakthrough
His breakthrough came in 1991, when his debut single "Outstanding" cruised up the UK Singles Chart to number 12. Within the same year, three singles followed. Among them is his biggest hit, "Thinking About Your Love," which peaked at number four and "Best of You," which trailed at number 11 on the UK charts. In 1991, his debut album "Voices" made number three in the UK Album Chart, selling over 600,000 copies. The following year, he was nominated for two awards for Best British Male Vocalist and Best British Newcomer.
Hit Albums
In 1991, Kenny Thomas had three Top 20 singles from the album, "Voices." The album also made it to number three on the UK Album Chart. His second album "Wait For Me" in 1993 made number 10 and the lead single from the album "Tripping On Your Love" made number 17 on the UK charts. In 1995, the single "When I Think of You" was the artist's last chart hit before his temporary departure from the music scene. His comeback album "Crazy World" shows that the singer's voice has grown richer in the passing years.
Show Experience
Over the last few years, Thomas has had the privilege of touring and sharing the stage with respected artists such as Bobby Womack, Lisa Stanfield, Shalamar, Patrice Rushen, Beverly Knight and Alexander O'Neal. His golden voice has garnered phenomenal interest in his works since the release of singles "Crazy World" and "Him." His dedicated fans have also maintained a steady demand to see him perform, and this reunion of upcoming events will prove to be quite memorable.
