Jeff Beck: prolific tourer and collaborator

Originally entering into the world of music as a member of his church choir, Jeff Beck was reformed by the sound of Les Paul performing "How High the Moon" on the radio. Cliff Gallup and B.B. King also left lasting impressions on the performer who would go on to meet Jimmy Page during his teenage years. Beginning his rock career in the sixties, Beck was recruited to replace Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds after being personally recommended by Page in 1965. The group achieved most of their Top 40 hits during his tenure, but Beck was fired after just a year due to problems with his temper and persistent absence from shows. 

Following a short, but successful, solo stint he formed his eponymous group, which at one point contained Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Jet Harris and gave rise to Top 15 debut charting album Truth. A prolific collaborator, Beck has made guest appearances on albums by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, ZZ Top, Roger Waters and Morrissey in a career that now spans over six decades.
