House of Vans
Mixing skate action with live music at House of Vans
House of Vans is an underground skateboard and music venue located in a converted set of London tunnels that used to be known as the Old Vic Tunnels. It's the sister venue of the HoV in Brooklyn, New York, the original venue of this type, which mixes live entertainment with DJs and puts skate culture at the forefront. You can come to watch or get stuck in to the action yourself - the use of the skating section is free, and you can also purchase entry to the many classes that are held here. It's one of the most exciting young venues in all of London, so if you're into either skate music or the sport itself, it's well worth buying or selling House of Vans tickets on StubHub.
Freestyle skate nights and supervised tutoring
House of Vans consists of two interconnected tunnels that have been converted into a tailor-made underground skate park. It really is the perfect place for the sport and has been immensely popular since the day it opened. It's well serviced by all manner of other amenities as well, including bars and a café. The facilities are top-class - this isn't some skater dive by any means. Of course there's lots of skating instruction on offer, and the Skate Skool days have come to be offered on a few days each week. These include free supervised skate sessions, but you can also hire experienced tutors to give you private lessons if you want to get more serious about the sport. Every now and again there are skate punk live music nights, and this is when fans of the subculture really come out in droves. It makes for an exciting and pleasantly raucous night out, with bands like Candy and No Warning putting on an amazing show. The music is hard, but always with the characteristic almost nursery rhyme-like quality of the genre. These are special nights indeed, so don't hesitate when you see House of Vans tickets on sale.
Theme nights from neighbouring skate crews
House of Vans also has plenty of other entertainment on offer, with one of the most popular themed events that have made a home here being the renowned Sk8 Fry-Days. It's an all-in-one affair that takes place over a good few hours, involving plenty of freestyle skating with a slap-up meal thrown in halfway through to keep your energy up, and the last hour or so devoted to premiering the latest skate film. Neighbouring crews often guest at these events, and one of the most popular of these has been when the Baghead crew took over. You can even catch the odd mini music festival here, such as Festifeel, which featured the likes of Elli Ingram and Gabrielle Aplin. There's always tons of action going on here, that's for sure, so make sure you don't miss out - you can get your House of Vans tickets on StubHub.
