Shortly after the completion of the 1996 Paralympics, the stadium was converted into a baseball-specific arena known as Turner Field, home to the Atlanta Braves for 20 years. After contract negotiations between the Atlanta Braves and the city broke down, Georgia State purchased the stadium as the new home for the Georgia State Panthers. Where can I park at the Georgia State Stadium?Guests attending Georgia State Stadium events have several ways to park at the stadium. You can pay a discounted parking fee of $10 before the event or pay $20 cash only on the day of the event. There are numbered and un-numbered parking spaces. Spaces with numbers are reserved for PAC members only. Please note that all vehicles without the proper parking documents will be towed at the owner's expense. Guests can park in the green, blue, orange or gold lots.

Can I bring my purse or bag into the Georgia State Stadium?Guests are permitted to bring clear totes or bags into the stadium as long as they do not exceed 12" X 6" X 12" in size. Clutches and small purses sized 4.5" X 6.5" or about the size of a hand are allowed.
Is tailgating allowed at the Georgia State Stadium?Tailgating is a favorite football tradition, and Georgia State welcomes the activity with open arms. Guests can rent a tailgating tent on the day of their event by calling the stadium and requesting the service ahead of time. Anyone consuming alcohol on the property is required to carry their state-issued identification at all times.
How safe is the Georgia State Stadium?Georgia State takes the safety of its athletes, performers, guests and staff quite seriously. Law enforcement and safety officers are placed around the facility to assist with any unruly visitors or emergency situations. In the event of an emergency that requires an evacuation, all guests should calmly and quickly move to the exits and follow instructions from the officers on duty for their own safety and for those around them.
