Hailing from Leeds, Yorkshire, the Gentleman's Dub Club is a dubstep and reggae band most known for their high energy music and shows. These nine gentlemen strive to provide music that connects culture to culture across the world, as they believe their bass music is an international language that can create a bond anywhere.
If you're looking to purchase Gentleman's Dub Club tickets for upcoming shows, you will be happy to know that the band has set dates all throughout fall of this year, with future shows to be added. You can find the band kicking off their tour in Winchester, then heading to Croatia before returning to Great Britain for subsequent shows. American fans will love to know that next year, the band is expected to travel to the United States to perform in Greeneville, South Carolina at the Horizon Festival.
The band's nine members met and formed The Gentleman's Dub Club back in 2006 in the basement of one of their apartments on 44 Headingly Lane, Leeds. The members continue to show their support for Leeds, and in return have gained a strong underground following there due to their loyalty. The band has also toured and supported other bass groups such as Roots Manuva, The Streets, U-Roy and Busy Signal.
With nine members in the group, there are a wide variety of talents to show off during any show. Jonathan Scratchley excels on vocals, Tommy Evans rocks the drums, Kola Bello is the keyboardist to the stars, Toby Davis deftly handles bass and synthesizer, Nick Tyson can be seen romping on guitar, Niall Lavelle takes good care of percussion, Matt Roberts plays the trumpet, Kieren Gallagher plays the saxophone and Harry Devenish handles all of the sound engineering.
The group released their debut album in October of 2013, titled FOURtyFOUR. The album featured hit songs such as "London Sunshine" and "Party Boy." However, their stage breakthrough only came when they began to play at festivals around the UK and Europe, such as Poland's Ostroda Reggae Festival and the Secret Garden Party. In recent years they performed at the Whitenoise Festival in Thetford where they received high praises from audiences and critics alike for their headlining performance.
The band's albums have all held spots in the iTunes Top Forty albums for the reggae charts, leading the band to gain momentum and support from their hometown and country. The UK's underground music supporters have all touted the albums as the band continues to gain success. Before their debut album, the group saw success with their first two EPs: Open Your Eyes in 2012 and Members Only in 2009.
Perhaps what the band is most known for is their energetic shows, providing some of the most exhilarating live shows from any UK bass, dubstep or reggae group. The band moves around a lot to add to the energy of their song, and asks for participation from the crowd. By the end of the night, crowds leave astounded from all the raucous energy these nine men bring forth. The shows combine the sounds of digital dance music with the groove of dubstep and reggae to turn out impressive performances.
