Frightened Rabbit - Anthems of Heartbreak and Hangovers
In the space of a few short years, this Scottish indie rock outfit have gone from playing the smallest clubs in the county to mammoth venues on both sides of the Atlantic. Esteemed hipster publication Pitchfork describe their superb output as 'ramshackle anthems of heartbreak and hangovers'.
Although the Selkirk outfit have been recording and performing since 2003, they only gained traction on the airwaves after signing to Atlantic Records in 2011. A Frightened Rabbit EP established their reputation andwon the band a legion of fans, making way for a steady slew of critically acclaimed albums including Pedestrian Verse (2013) and the 2016 release Painting of a Panic Attack. They're touring and making their mark on the festival circuit over the next few months, so there's ample opportunity to grab Frightened Rabbit tickets now on StubHub UK.
Frightened Rabbit - See the Illustrious Scottish Indie Outfit Live in 2016
This critically acclaimed indie band formed in 2003 when lead singer Scott Hutchison began playing solo shows under the childhood nickname his mother had bestowed upon him. The group started taking shape when his brother Grant moved to Glasgow and the two began honing their sound and making demos. With the addition of Billy Kennedy, the trio went on to record their debut album Sing the Greys in 2006 - but only 1,000 copies were released. They spent the next couple of years touring, the climax of which saw them playing a sell-out gig at the Mercury Lounge in New York, and acquired new members in Andy Monaghan and Gordon Skene (who was later replaced by Simon Liddell).
Distinguished by Scott Hutchison's heavy Scottish vocals, records like The Midnight Organ Fight (2008) and The Winter of Mixed Drinks (2010) made them one of the hottest rising indie bands - but it wasn't until singing to major label Atlantic Records that they garnered significant attention. Pedestrian Verse (2013) and Painting of a Panic Attack (2016) have cemented the Frightened Rabbit as one of the UK's key indie bands. Hear their horde of emotive anthems including 'The Modern Leper' and 'Keep Yourself Warm' when you buy Frightened Rabbit tickets on StubHub UK.
