Frankie Rose Biography - Garage Rocker to Folk Flower

This chilled out performer first found her footing as an artist in a string of eclectic groups including post-punk quintet Crystal Stilts and female dream pop bands Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls. It was with the latter that she gained the most popularity after forming the New York-based trio with Cassie Ramone and "Kickball Katy" Goodman back in March 2007.

The singer's first solo effort appeared in 2009 in the form of single 'Thee Only One' released under Frankie Rose and the Outs. She followed up this initial offering a year later with a full-length album under the same name on Slumberland Records. Now having lost "the Outs", this softly sung performer is a firm underground favourite with obvious mainstream appeal. 2012's Interstellar saw her move further away from the garage-influenced noise pop groups of her past and instead opt for a more synth-based dreamy sound. She continued this trajectory with 2013's hotly anticipated Herein Wild. Adored for her stripped-back performances and simple yet effective arrangements, this boundary blurring artist is quickly becoming a live favourite.
