The Ferrell Center has been the place to be in Waco, Texas for nearly three decades at this point, making it a focal point of the Baylor University basketball program as well as a venue that hosts all sorts of different entertainment events throughout the course of the year. The men's and women's programs for Baylor have become powerhouses in the Big 12, which is why some of the biggest games in the conference have gone down at the Ferrell Center in the modern era of college basketball. Ferrell Center Greatest Moments
First opened in 1988, the inaugural event for the Ferrell Center actually had nothing to do with basketball. That year, President Ronald Reagan opened up the Ferrell Center with a speech towards the end of his second term in office, starting a tradition of some of the most prominent politicians in the country putting on events in Waco. Reagan even joined thousands of students in the "Sick 'em Bears" chant that has become famous over the years and was named an honorary Baylor alumnus.
