Barcelona B, breeding ground of future La Liga stars
FC Barcelona B is the reserve team affiliated with Spanish football giants, FC Barcelona. As the famous club's reserve team, it is the pool of players from which substitutes are fed into the top tier team when needed. So, when you buy or sell Barcelona B tickets on StubHub you are dealing with the cream of the crop of Spanish football, or at the very least, the next best thing!
The reserve side of the famous Barça
Barcelona B, like all reserve teams in the Spanish football league system, does not play in a reserve league, but rather in the country's second division, Segunda Division B. This raises an interesting little phenomenon, in that, because the club already has one team in the top league, its reserve team cannot gain promotion to La Liga, even if it ends the season in a promotion spot. You might think that this would put a bit of a dampener on the team's competitive spirit, but there is far too much at stake here for that kind of attitude. The stars of this team obviously catch the eye of the first team's management group, and so they can get to play in La Liga by being selected for Barça itself. As a result, the levels of skill and commitment are superb, and you are in for a real special treat of Spanish football when you obtain Barcelona B tickets.
Settling into B division football
Barcelona B hasn't always played in the second division; for many years the team played in the second tier of their league in Spain, until their fortunes were revived in the 1989 season, and they won promotion back to their customary spot for the following season. Relegation followed a few years later again, and after another lengthy absence they found themselves back in the B division of the Spanish second league. At this time, the team's name changed every few years or so, as successive club presidents expressed their personal preferences, so it was also known as Barcelona Atlètic for a couple of years in the late 2000s. Things settled down then, particularly under new coaches, most notably former Real Madrid CF star, Luis Enrique, who had also played for the Barça reserves. So, if you're a Barça fan and you keep up with who's who in the queue of new talent, get yourself some Barcelona B tickets on StubHub and go talent-spotting.
