Dirty Dancing Austin Cast
The casting director for Dirty Dancing lucked out with the talented cast of the original West End debut of Dirty Dancing, bringing out much anticipated performances by talented actors like Gareth Bailey, Roseanna Frascona, Claire Rogers, Colin Charles, James Coombes, Mark Faith, Julia J. Nagle, Michael Remick, Wayne Smith, Alexander Wolfe, and Jessie Lou Yates. While their performances contrasted greatly from the performances given in the film version of Dirty Dancing, starring Patrick Swayze, Jerry Orbach, Jennifer Grey, and Cynthia Rhodes, critics all agree that their performances held their own on the stage and gave new life to Dirty Dancing that they hadn't felt when watching the film in years. It's very difficult to create a show for the stage that was once a film as the film version tends to resonate in viewer's heads. To overcome that, the entire creative team behind Dirty Dancing had to find a way to make the show theirs and though they were telling the same story as the film, to tell it in a way that would translate better from the stage. Thankfully, they've done just that, so don't miss out on your opportunity to see what Dirty Dancing is all about by heading to StubHub and picking up your tickets while you still can!
