Chocolate Puma, Europe's house music chameleons
Chocolate Puma is a Dutch DJ and hose production duo who have gone under so many names in the past that it's probably best to let you know that it's actually Zki & Dobre, once again. That's right, Chocolate Puma is yet another reincarnation of the '90s smash hit-making outfit, The Goodmen. Whatever guise they're in, you can be sure that when you buy or sell Chocolate Puma tickets on StubHub, you're in for the best of European commercial house music and then some.
A modern-day incarnation of The Goodmen
The Chocolate Puma duo first came to global attention in the dance music world with their absolutely massive hit, "Give It Up". It was a blend of house music and Latin samba rhythms, played in military tattoo fashion as the basis of the beat, creating the perfect crossover between '90s house and the hugely popular Latin pop that began sweeping the world at the time, reaching a crescendo with the superstardom of artists like Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez. The track was based on a number by the grand old man of Brazilian music, Sérgio Mendes. It not only hit the mainstream in the form of the Billboard Hot 100, it went all the way to #5 on the UK Singles Chart in 1993. It was one of the songs that made up the soundtrack of a generation, becoming more well known to pop fans' ears as the main featured sample on Simply Red's hit single "Fairground". You'll hear plenty of this kind of magical feel-good house music when you get your Chocolate Puma tickets.
A huge hit single with Dannii Minogue
Chocolate Puma have become an integral part of the Dutch house scene and have released more than a few collaborations and remixes with their fellow artists on the scene, like Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano. They've also moved in some very lofty company, this time under yet another of the names, Riva. Under this band name, the duo wrote a vocal melody for one of their earlier tracks, renamed it "Who Do You Love Now" and scored a UK top 3 single with Dannii Minogue, sister of Kylie, who parlayed a string of pop and dance hits, and a relationship with Canadian F1 driver Jacques Villeneuve, into an international celebrity career. At the same time, the song was released with almost 10 different remix versions, creating multiple different dance and clubland hits out of it. More recently, Chocolate Puma has worked with and been featured on compilations from some of the most eminent house labels around, like Ministry of Sound and Global Underground. So, it's a no-brainer, really – you'll get to rave to three or four hit-making house outfits all in one with Chocolate Puma tickets bought on StubHub.
