Camila Cabello announces her first headline UK tour
Initially rising to fame as the stand-out member of the US X-Factor girl band Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello helped the group to achieve a UK top 10 album, sell-out various world tours, and win multiple awards before leaving to pursue a solo career in 2016. Having already collaborated with the likes of Shawn Mendes on "I Know What You Did Last Summer and rapper Machine Gun Kelly ("Bad Things") before her departure from Fifth Harmony, Cabello released her debut album in January 2018. Supported by the smash hit "Havana" – a UK number one – the Latin-infused record peaked at number two in the UK album charts, and spawned two more singles: "Real Friends" and "Never Be the Same".
Despite insisting she had no plans to tour, Cabello has delighted fans on this side of the Atlantic, after announcing her first headline UK tour in 2018. Camilizers will be able to see her in Glasgow, Birmingham and London in early June before she jets off to the Isle of Wight Festival later in the month. So what are you waiting for? Camila Cabello: bound for pop superstardom
Cabello began work on her debut solo album almost immediately after leaving Fifth Harmony in January 2017. Spending eleven months in the studio, she worked with Grammy Award-winning DJ Frank Dukes, Skrillex and The Futuristics to produce a ballad-driven, Latin-infused record that was both a commercial and critical success.
Upon release, Camila topped the iTunes albums charts in over 100 countries, becoming the first debut album to do so and one of only eleven in history. It reached a high of number two on the UK Albums Chart, and was a career-high for Cabello who previously reached a high of number six with Fifth Harmony.
Cabello had originally intended for the debut solo single to be "Crying in the Club", but following the track's lukewarm reception, coupled with the significant commercial success of follow-up "Havana" (a chart-topper in multiple countries), "Crying in the Club" was scrapped from the album's track list. Cabello also worked on tracks with the likes of Charli XCX and Ed Sheeran but none made the final press.
In-between all of that, she managed to support Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic North America tour in the summer of 2017 and headlines her own solo tour for the first time in 2018. Don't miss out! Buy Camila Cabello tickets now at StubHub to see the pop superstar live in the UK.
