Akron Civic Center TicketsDating back to the 1920s, Akron Civic Center is rich in history. Its design was made by renowned architect John Eberson. Inspiration from Moorish castles was the idea behind its interior design. Akron Civic Center is the last of the theaters opened by businessman Marcus Loew under his Loew's chain of theaters. In the early 2000s, the theater closed down for a major renovation and re-opened in November 2002. Its re-opening saw it partnering with The University of Akron's E. J. Thomas Hall. The theater is the preferred venue for entertainment and live performances in the city of Akron, Ohio. Rock band The Black Keys, English American rock band The Pretenders and glam metal band Warrant are among the performers that used the Akron's stage to entertain their local fans. Akron Civic Center also hosted several theater plays and musicals including Fiddler on the Roof, The Apple Tree and Man of La Mancha.
