Hailing from the Reggio Emilia province, Alan Fornaciari was born in 1955 and goes by the nickname given to him by his
school teacher, which translates as 'sugar'. He began crafting his talent as a teenager, favouring the influences of blues
and R&B. Winning some exposure at Castrocaro festival in 1981 enabled the musician to go on and release his first album Un
Po'Di Zucchero two years later. Unsatisfied with his artistic situation, in 1984 the musician headed for California, which
resulted in 1985 album Zucchero & The Randy Jackson Band. Although this album achieved relative success, it was his
1988 record Blue's that transformed him into a household name not only in his native Italy, but also across Europe.
The album went on to become the highest selling album in Italian history.
Perhaps best known on these shores for the hit 'Senza Una Sonna', which saw him join forces with Paul Young, he scored
a Number 4 hit in the UK Singles chart. In 2005, fans with Zucchero tickets helped make history when his September concert
held on home territory in Reggio Emilia set a European record for the audience attendance, with 180,000 fans turning up to
bask in his musical genius. Don't miss out next time he hits our shores - search for Zucchero tickets on StubHub UK to get
