Core members and childhood friends O'Donoghue and guitarist Mark Sheehan were originally part of Irish boyband mytown,
who were touted as the Emerald Isle's equivalent to the Backstreet Boys in the mid-'90s. Although the group split in 2000
the venture exposed the pair to modern music industry legends such as Montell Jordan and Teddy Riley - and soon they would
rock up their sound and image with guidance from these production whizzes. After a stint in the US they returned to Dublin
and formed The Script with drummer Glen Power, quickly signing to the Phonogenic label in 2005. Inspired by the likes of Coldplay
and U2, they began crafting epic pop-rock tracks such as 'We Cry' and 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved', which both went on to
become huge chart hits.
The years since have seen their success go supernova, with both their 2008 self-titled debut and 2010 follow-up Science
and Faith hitting the Number One spot in the UK and Ireland. With O'Donoghue promoting his talents to an even wider audience
on The Voice, it's little surprise that their third effort, 2012's #3, has smashed the charts and already gone
platinum in their homeland. Demand for their live shows is huge - so make sure you buy The Script tickets on StubHub UK as
soon as possible to avoid missing out on this pop-rock phenomenon.
