Singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney's friendship dates back to their high school years, although they
wouldn't start making music together until they both dropped out of university. After playing in bars in and around their
hometown of Akron, Ohio, the duo released their debut album The Big Come Up in 2002. Five further LP releases would
follow over the proceeding eight years, each helping them to expand their audience on both sides of the pond and charm the
critics.
By the time 2010's Brothers hit the shelves, the two-piece had broken through to the mainstream, thanks in part
to the production skills of Brian 'Danger Mouse' Burton, adding a new dimension to their simplistic, bluesy approach. Earning
five Grammy nominations for the LP cemented the group's place as respected, if often reluctant, rock stars. This hard-earned
status was solidified with El Camino, which has catapulted them to some of the US and UK's biggest arenas. Able to
engage crowds with their expert musicianship and understated presence, they're now considered one of the live circuit's most
accomplished acts. Check them out for yourself by searching for The Black Keys tickets on StubHub UK.
