Sonny Moore, more commonly known as Skrillex, emerged on the fiercely competitive electro scene in 2008. Starting out as a DJ, Skrillex started to promote his dance floor-influenced music on MySpace, releasing his debut EP My Name is Skrillex as a free download in 2010. Since then the 20-something from Los Angeles, California has won accolades including a Grammy for ‘Best Dance/Electronica’ release in 2011.

Starting out as the frontman of post-hardcore band From First to Last, Sonny Moore left his bandmates in 2007 to focus on his solo career. With a new line-up Moore set out to tour with emo-pop star All Time Low, his solo career off to a flying start after appearing on the cover of Alternative Press' annual ‘100 Bands you Need to Know’ issue.
Moving away from his hardcore roots, Sonny Moore began playing the American DJ circuit and soon enough the artist Skrillex was born. Taking his material into the studio, Skrillex began producing remixes of the famous Lady Gaga single ‘Bad Romance’ and experimenting with LaRoux’s ‘In for the Kill’. His new electro sound samples old school acts Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and Korn - Skrillex also becoming a hit in electro circles for his on-point sampling of singles from the remaining members of the Doors.
