Born and bred in London, stand-up comedian Simon Amstell began to
seek out the limelight at the tender age of 13, first appearing as a contestant on Channel 4 gameshow. His first truly big
break came as a presenter on Nickelodeon, where he was allegedly fired for being too mean spirited towards children. Despite
this minor controversy, Simon Amstell eventually landed a job co-hosting Channel 4's wryly-humoured pop culture roundup show
Popworld and went on to host Never Mind the Buzzcocks before leaving in 2009 to pursue a career in stand-up.
