Live Music at Shepherd's Bush Empire - Rich in Entertainment History

Built in 1903 for theatre enthusiast Oswald Stoll, this storied venue welcomed its first audience to a performance featuring Charlie Chaplin. It continued to stage variety shows until they fell out of fashion during the early '50s.

After narrowly avoiding a flying bomb during the Second World War, the music hall was sold to the BBC and used as a TV studio-theatre. Throughout this period the venue was used to host the BBC's light entertainment shows and saw the likes of Cliff Richard, Dusty Springfield and Lulu grace its stage. Eventually the building was vacated again, and in 1993 ownership was handed over to Andrew Mahler, who invested over £1 million in its refurbishment.

The stunning building now hosts live music events for audiences of up to 2,000 people. Known as a hotspot for secret warm up shows and intimate gigs, the venue has been frequented by the likes of The Rolling Stones, among other legends.
