Nigel Kennedy Biography - Born Into Music
Music runs in the blood of this talented family - Nigel's grandfather
had been the principal cellist for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and his grandmother was a pianist who had accompanied the likes
of John McCormack. The musician's father laid further foundation work for the incomparable musician by becoming the principal
cellist of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and getting involved with pianist Scylla Stoner.
By 10, Nigel could pick
out complex jazz arrangements on the piano and went on to become a pupil at New York's Julliard school. After his recording
debut Elgar's Violin Concerto, he scored his big break with his rendition of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, which
would go on to become one of the best-selling classical titles ever. Following a five year break from live performances his
triumphant return to international stages saw him win an award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music at the 2001 BRIT
Awards. Make sure you catch this one of a kind musician live by purchasing Nigel Kennedy tickets securely online at StubHub
