Formed in the West Country town of Teignmouth at the tail-end of Britain's rock renaissance of the 1990s, the three-piece
were initially touted as the new Radiohead in the music press. After a period of struggling to get signed, they released their
debut album Showbiz in 1999, hitting the Top 30 on the UK albums chart.
By 2001, the group had shaken off previous comparisons with Thom Yorke's group and were forging a unique sound all of their
own. It took them to Number Three on the charts with the sophomore LP Origin Of Symmetry, and their popularity as a
live group followed suit. With the release of each subsequent album - from Absolution right through to 2012's The
2nd Law - their audience has grown in line with the size and scale of their ambitious stage shows. If the band can imagine
it, it'll happen at their super-massive concerts, from spacecraft hovering over the stage to huge explosions and retina-searing
lazer shows.
