        Monster Magnet Biography - Heavy Heroes

        Formed in 1989, the group were quick to release two demo tapes, 'Forget About Life, I'm High on Dope' and 'I'm Stoned, What Ya Gonna Do About It?' before the year was over. Their official debut came in the form of 'Lizard Johnny/Freakshop USA' in 1990. Early on the group were pegged as an important development in the genre, with debut album Spring of God still being heralded as one of the classic records of stoner rock. After touring alongside the legendary Soundgarden, the quintet gained the attention of A&M Records, with whom they signed with shortly after. Meanwhile, 1996 saw 'Negasonic Teenage Warhead' become a hit thanks to the success of its surreally futuristic music video.

        Frequently touring alongside other rock legends including Metallica and Aerosmith the band continue to spellbind audiences with their mind-bending music. Gruelling guitar solos combined with Wyndorf's apocalyptic vocals produce an ever-evolving sound that pleasantly surprises fans every time.
