Jason Manford Biography - From Glass Collector to All-Round Entertainer

This affable funnyman's affair with comedy began when he worked as a glass collector at a local comedy club when he was 17-years-old. Inspired by performances from the likes of Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas, the young comic found his big break when a performer failed to turn up and he was allowed to fill his place. Kay then encouraged the young Manford to pursue a media and performance diploma at the University of Salford.

After starting out on the circuit, he was soon winning awards for his act, including prizes from regional publications City Life and the Leicester Mercury. His big mainstream break came after a performance on TV show Live at the Apollo in 2007, wowing its nationwide audience with his down-to-earth persona and repertoire of gags. His everyman humour and laddish appeal have impressed crowds all over the country and seen him embark on numerous national live tours.
