The youngest of ten, Jack White was brought up in a Catholic family in Detroit, Michigan. Playing in local groups he met future band member and soon-to-be wife, Meg White, and in 1997 they formed the White Stripes. The band went on to earn accolades with a stack of major music awards, shaping the sound of the early 21st century.
