        Grease the Musical is set in Rydell High School in 1959 and follows a group of teenagers on the cusp of adulthood. Sandy Dumbrowski is just starting at the school after a summer love affair with the leader of the T-Birds, Danny Zuko. Both have very different versions of their courtship to tell, resulting in a rift between the couple as Danny tries to keep his 'tough guy' reputation intact. The two struggle to win each other's affections whilst others in their group deal with gang violence, rebellion and other teenage issues.

        Originally produced off-Broadway, Grease the Musical has grossed over £165 million in the UK since its London opening in 1993. The soundtrack, born from the 1978 film of the same name, brought the musical further success when 'Summer Nights' maintained the number one position on the UK charts for seven weeks. The song is still ranked among the top 20 best selling singles of all time, and other Grease songs such as 'You're the One That I Want' endure as favourites.
