        Evanescence Biography - From Youth Camps to Festival Headliners

        Hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, founding members Amy Lee and Ben Moody met at a summer youth camp. After Moody overheard Lee playing the piano and singing, he asked her to join him in forming a band and the seeds were sown for a musical phenomenon. The duo began writing and performing together, attracting the attention of producer Pete Matthews, who introduced them to a representative from Wind-up Records, the label the band would sign eventually sign with.

        Joined by bassist Will Boyd, guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray, the group began working on their debut album. Tracks 'Bring Me To Life' and 'My Immortal' were featured on the soundtrack to the film Daredevil and their popularity generated significant buzz for the release of Fallen in 2003. The album spent more than 100 weeks on Billboard's Top 200 and has sold over 17 million copies worldwide, as well as winning the group two Grammy Awards.
