Music at Etihad Stadium - Electrifying Entertainment
Then-Prime Minister Tony Blair laid the foundation stone for this
48,000-capacity stadium at the end of 1999 - and in the years since it's become one of the UK's key large-scale venues. After
hosting the 2002 Commonwealth Games the arena was transformed from a track and field venue into a football stadium with an
impressive overhaul during which the ground was lowered to make way for an extra tier of seating.
After unveiling the
revamped stadium with a friendly game with Barcelona, City soon turned their new home into a fortress, winning their first
Premier League title within a decade of becoming tenants. As well as football, this visually stunning stadium has played host
to some of the UK's biggest concerts despite its relatively short lifetime. The first gig took place in 2004 when the Red
Hot Chili Peppers took centre stage with James Brown supporting. Since then the stadium has seen the likes of U2, Manic Street
Preachers and Dizzee Rascal grace its fantastically lit stage. Make sure that you've got tickets to see the next hot events
