This critically-acclaimed indie rock band has taken the long road to success since forming in 1997, but it's been well
worth the wait. Since receiving the 2008 Mercury Prize for their stunning album The Seldom Seen Kid, they've gone from
strength to strength, scooping two Ivor Novellos and being honoured with the 'Outstanding Contribution' gong at the NME Awards.

Made up of vocalist Guy Garvey, guitarist Mark Potter, bassist Pete Turner, organist Craig Potter and drummer Richard Jupp,
the group met at college in northern town Bury in the early 1990s. Although their first three albums, 2001's Asleep in
the Back, 2003's Cast of Thousands and 2005's Leaders of the Free World, proved popular among indie music
fans and critics, it would take until their surprise Mercury victory before the wider public sat up and took notice. Soon
they were selling millions of copies of their LPs and playing the arenas that the stirring sounds of tracks such as 'One Day
Like This' and 'Grounds For Divorce' deserved. Returning in 2011 with Build A Rocket, Boys! saw them finally crash
the upper echelons of the charts and confirm their place among the greats of British music.
Led by the charismatic Garvey - half stand-up comedian, half tear-jerking crooner - they're a powerful live force, as proved
by their show-stealing turn at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. Find out when they're next playing near you - check
