Chicane is the alias of Nick Bracegirdle, and also the name of the band who perform this musical maverick's songs live. Bracegirldle began his career by founding his own record label, before finding success with his 1995 single 'Right Here Right Now' under the name Disco Citizen. Yet it was the release of a second studio album in 2000 that really catapulted his talents into the public consciousness through the success of singles 'Saltwater' and 'Don't Give Up', the latter featuring US singer Bryan Adams and reaching Number One on the UK Top 40.
Throughout the subsequent decade, Chicane cemented his reputation as a dance music master, collaborating with artists such as Natasha Bedingfield and Tom Jones whilst also continuing to develop and hone his live act. The 2012 offering Thousand Mile Stare proved that despite a near 20-year long career, this unique talent has no plans of slowing down nor has his ability to create infectious beats diminished.
