Emerging during a boom time for British indie rock, when the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park and Arctic Monkeys were
storming up the charts, this London-based quartet was given a leg-up by fellow art-rockers Franz Ferdinand. After being recommended
to respected Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq, they were receiving national airplay for tracks such as 'She's Hearing Voices' and 'Banquet'.
These tracks would go on to form part of their acclaimed 2005 debut album Silent Alarm, which hit Number Three on the
charts before going platinum.
Buoyed by the success, the foursome opted to explore darker themes on A Weekend in the City, which saw the band
crack the US charts as well as become major stars in countries around the world. By the time follow-up Intimacy hit
shelves in 2008 the group were considered among the rock scene's most important players. Keen not to stagnate, they opted
to pursue solo projects after touring the album, with singer Kele Okereke releasing a notable electro-orientated LP, The
Boxer.
Returning after a four-year hiatus in 2012 with aptly-titled LP Four, demand for Bloc Party tickets was higher than
