Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak was shot
and killed at Bayfront Park in 1933. Cermak was shaking hands with then President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt when he was
shot three times by Giuseppe Zangara in front of Bayfront Park. To this day, nobody knows for sure if Zangara was attempting
to kill Roosevelt instead of Cermak.
