Comprised of 32 acres of verdant greenery, Bayfront Park is comprised of a tropical rock garden, waterfall, sand beach, Light Tower, fountain, playground and various monuments, such as the Challenger Memorial, Mildred and Claude Pepper Fountain, and a World War II Veterans' Memorial. The park additionally includes special event facilities such as the Tina Hills Pavilion and the Klipsch Ampitheater.

One of the hottest music festivals in the world, the Ultra Music Festival, is planned for the end of March this year at Bayfront Park. And, this is one event you just can't afford to miss! The three-day festival welcomes Zedd, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Krewella, Kaskde, Avicii, Hardwell and more to the stage!


Bayfront Park History

Construction for Bayfront Park started in 1924. With design plans provided by Warren Henry Manning, the park officially opened a year later in March. Starting in 1980, Bayfront Park went through a major overhaul. Japanese-American landscape architect and modernist artist, Isamu Noguchi, contributed to the park's redesign.

Bayfront Park Events Hosted

Bayfront Park is renowned for hosting several big-time annual events for the city of Miami, including America's Birthday Bash, which is held on the 4th of July. The park is also the site of the Miami's official New Year's Eve party and the Ultra Music Festival, which spans across six days.

Bayfront Park also has hosted a number of motorsports events, including the IMSA race from 1983-1985; Champ Car race from 2002-2003; and the ALMS race from 2002-2003.

Bayfront Park Trivia

Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak was shot and killed at Bayfront Park in 1933. Cermak was shaking hands with then President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt when he was shot three times by Giuseppe Zangara in front of Bayfront Park. To this day, nobody knows for sure if Zangara was attempting to kill Roosevelt instead of Cermak.
